The town of Turkestan, Kazakhstan, has been turned upside down by the extensive work being carried out to transform pilgrims into religious tourists. While the magnificent site of the mausoleum of Khoja Ahmad Yasawi continues to attract more and more crowds, the museum dedicated to the Sufi mystic is struggling to find its audience.
