Like small rocks in the vastness of the Pamir mountains, the lorries using the M41 road between Tajikistan, China and Kyrgyzstan are blocked by roadworks near Vanj, in the Gorno-Badakhshan autonomous region. This emblematic road, which is barely paved and on which traffic can be very difficult, is an important commercial and political issue in the region.
