The Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin, also known as Dormition Cathedral, is the Russian Orthodox cathedral in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The cathedral was built in 1871 and rebuilt several times. On January 7 and in the night before, many Russian-Orthodox believers in Uzbekistan celebrate christmas.
