Fish Factory of Urga

The former fish factory of Urga at Sudoche Lake in Karakalpakstan in western Uzbekistan, existed until the 1920s. In addition, the village Urga existed until the middle of the 20th century, whose population worked in the fishing industry. After the population moved to a village on the Ustyurt plateau, the village fell into ruins – but now individual fishermen live there again.
