The modernist ‘Kosmos’ cinema in Buston (former Chkalovsk), Tajikistan, displays on its façade a spaceship flying towards the outer space. Unfortunately part of the façade is obstructed by a kind of canopy added later on.
Until the dissolution of the USSR, Chkavolsk, sometimes referred as “Atomabad”, was a closed city. It was the most important center of the Sughd region for the processing of uranium.
