The smoke of a local bakery fills the air of a village deep in the Jizzakh region, Uzbekistan.

This photo was taken during the filming of Mission: Find Aral, a documentary investigating the ecological impact of the disappearance of the Aral Sea, the impact its drying up is having on local communities and the future of the region. The Aral Sea is a saltwater lake located in southern Uzbekistan and northern Kazakhstan.
