Mosaics – 1 – Allegory of Spring
- Photo of the day
- 1 minute
This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful Soviet mosaics in Tashkent. It is located on the southeastern outskirts of the city, in the Bektemir neighborhood.
In 1966, a devastating earthquake destroyed the city. It was rebuilt in record time, in accordance with the Soviet Union’s new standards and aesthetic ideals. The massive wall mosaics, which soften and brighten the concrete facades, became the new symbol of Tashkent.
