Moving the camp

The semi-nomadic herders of Son Kul in Kyrgyzstan regularly move their yurts. During the summer months, they go to the same locations each year and, several times during the season, they move their yurts a few metres to avoid damaging the ground on which they rest. When guests arrive, they often put up an extra yurt. Credit: Pierre-Armand Dussex (France)
