Khorezmian fortress
“Kyzyl Kala”, an old Khorezmian fortress, is located north of Urgench in southwestern Uzbekistan. The Khorezmian rulers used this and other fortresses in the former Khorezmian region as their seat of power until Genghis Khan conquered the area.
