Anzob Tunnel

In a short time, the Anzob Tunnel became the central core of Tajikistan’s main transport axis between the two parts of the country, the capital Dushanbe in the south and the second largest city Khujand in the north. It was bored through the Serafshan mountain range, and for a time had the reputation of being one of the most dangerous road tunnels in the world because of the numerous potholes, constant water ingress, lack of ventilation such as lighting.
