Buddhist temple or mosque?

The colorful Zharkent Mosque is a curiosity. Constructed entirely of wood, the sacred building resembles a Buddhist pagoda, but it is actually a mosque built for the Muslim Uyghurs in 1887. Today, it houses the regional museum of the Zhetysu district.
