White marble

Like all monumental buildings erected in the capital during the last few decades, Independence Monument and State Cultural Centre of Turkmenistan, both located in the city outskirts are featuring facades made of white marble. Ashgabat has been officially recognized by the Guinness World Records as a city with the largest number of marble-clad buildings in the world.
