‘At my guide and friend Turat’s house, on the outskirts of Min-Kush, in Naryn. Here, he is playing with his kids before saying goodbye to them for a few days, as we will be leaving together to explore the uranium mining environment for my thesis project. This moment of joy represents the feeling that will soon bring me back to Kyrgyzstan – to further engage with this wonderful country and its people’.
