\u201cYesterday and today in Central Asia<\/em>\u201d: In this 2026 edition, the\u00a0Novastan\u00a0team\u00a0explored\u00a0Central\u00a0Asia\u00a0through\u00a0portraits,\u00a0street\u00a0scenes,\u00a0playful\u00a0moments,\u00a0and\u00a0fleeting\u00a0coincidences ; each\u00a0revealing\u00a0a\u00a0glimpse\u00a0of\u00a0time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jury Prize<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The\u00a0jury\u00a0was\u00a0impressed\u00a0by\u00a0the\u00a0quality\u00a0of\u00a0all\u00a0submissions,\u00a0making\u00a0the\u00a0final\u00a0decision\u00a0especially\u00a0challenging. After\u00a0careful\u00a0deliberation,\u00a0the\u00a0jury\u00a0awarded\u00a0Jan\u00a0Hildner<\/strong>\u00a0the\u00a0Jury\u00a0Prize<\/strong>.\u00a0Bravo\u00a0to\u00a0him !<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The walls and domes of the\u00a0Bibi-Khanym Mosque<\/a><\/strong>, restored many times over, emerge like a dream from the metal structures of the great Siab market in\u00a0Samarkand<\/a><\/strong>, Uzbekistan.

Hildner\u2019s work offers a telescopic view of Samarkand, presenting a patchwork collage of passages, passers-by, Bibi Khanum Mosque, and Siab Bazaar. His photograph brilliantly captures the living spirit of the historic city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Audience Award<\/strong> went to Niels Hildebrandt<\/strong>, who also celebrated Uzbek life by portraying Bukhara<\/strong>. His images lead viewers through quiet streets in the historic center, revealing a peaceful town where childhood unfolds quietly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uzbekistan was therefore in the spotlight for this 2026 competition! We’ll see where the next years take us… <\/p>\n\n\n\n
