The word ‘Registan’ means ‘sandy place’ or ‘desert’ in Persian, a fitting name for this great square that has witnessed centuries of cultural and commercial exchanges. In the evening, it is brightly illuminated by sound and light shows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
