A rider visits a remote farm in Kelemche, south of Lake Son Kul in Kyrgyzstan. Many of the shepherds are semi-nomadic and after the summer season at the end of September, they return with their families and flocks to take up winter quarters further down the mountain. Throughout the winter and sometimes in difficult weather conditions, men commute between their highland farms and the plain, where their families live.Credit: Pierre-Armand Dussex (France)
